Per Julie Ann Emery's recent The Hollywood Reporter interview, it seems the Kettlemans' "Better Call Saul" return has been in the works for a while, with the actor claiming, "The writers have been talking about bringing us back for a long time ..." Emery further offered that it was none other than Peter Gould who helped orchestrate their return, with the "Better Call Saul" co-creator noting specifically that return had to make sense within the series' overarching story. "Peter has reached out several times, saying, 'We're looking for a good way to bring you guys back, but it has to make sense for the story," Emery revealed.

If you've been keeping up with the final season of "Better Call Saul," you know the writing team found a clever way to bring the Kettlemans back into Kim (Rhea Seehorn) and Saul's orbit. And per Emery's comments to The Hollywood Reporter, it hardly surprised her that the couple was still up to their old tricks. "I always thought that they were still doing some sort of grift and that they felt entitled," she said. "So it did not surprise me at all that they were still doing something slightly off-center. I guess Betsy would see it that way, but they're still doing something illegal."

As for their dealings with Kim and Saul, well, let's just say their attempts to play hardball with the not-entirely law-abiding attorneys did not go well. It remains to be seen whether Betsy and Craig will be back on "Better Call Saul" before series' end, but given how much fans and creatives like the characters, we fully expect to see them again.
