There are many fishermen/women everywhere out to hook you the fish: buy this and you'll look better, take this pill and you'll be slimmer. It's a case of follow the leader society.
I've had little option but to use my brain from the day I was set free into a strange society. I was emotionally barren, uneducated and knew nothing of family life. I was raised in an all male environment from age two. Strange as it may seem, I had never spoken to a girl prior to age sixteen! Knew nothing about birthdays. Early experiences taught me not to trust adults. Not surprising that I never made a friend and kept much to myself.
When I reflect on my life, I have a wry smile at what I have achieved. I'd love to know what some of my American work force would think of me as their boss, had they known of my background.
Just maybe the social system of education and 'training' is too focused on assembly line production. Is it a case of we must do it this way, because we are told so by our betters?
I don't ask for or give advice, just relate my experiences. My mantra is to observe, listen, question and learn. It has served me well especially when it came to caring for my late wife. I'm so pleased I didn't blindly follow doctors and other so called professionals when it came to dealing with AD.
It is edifying what you discover when you question the experts. When I asked the senior surgeon: "How come I got stomach cancer, I don't drink, smoke and I have kept fit all my life?" The reply: "How long is a piece of string."
