Ahead of the release of Daisy Jones And The Six, the show’s fictional band is allegedly releasing a real album, AURORA, on vinyl.

The upcoming musical miniseries is set to release on March 3, 2023 on Amazon Prime Video. Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book of the same name, the series follows Daisy Jones And The Six in a documentary-style format. The show follows the titular band through America’s wild, rollicking music scene in the 1970s.

Daisy Jones And The Six fans caught a glimpse of what to expect from the series’ music as details of the vinyl were released earlier than anticipated. Let’s take a look.

Daisy Jones And The Six’s AURORA will be coming to vinyl

In true Seventies style, the album will be released in vinyl format. Although not yet available to purchase in the US, or anywhere else for that matter, we got a sneak peak of what to expect from the AURORA vinyl thanks to an unusual source.

The vinyl was released through the website for the Australian segment of clothing retailer Urban Outfitters. Surprised fans were delighted and the vinyl almost instantly sold out. The page has since been deleted.

It has now been reported that the orders have since been canceled as the vinyl wasn’t due to release. How disappointing!

A look at the AURORA track list

Given the series follows musicians from Los Angeles’ Seventies music scene, we’ve been promised a killer soundtrack. When Urban Outfitters revealed the AURORA vinyl, they also presented the 11 tracks expected on the band’s debut album (in real life).

Here’s a look at the track list of Daisy Jones And The Six’s AURORA:

  1. Aurora
  2. Let Me Down Easy
  3. Kill You To Try
  4. Two Against Three
  5. Look At Us Now (Honeycomb)
  6. Regret Me
  7. You Were Gone
  8. More Fun To Miss
  9. Please
  10. The River
  11. No Words

How the Daisy Jones And The Six vinyl track list compare to the book

Since the vinyl’s track list released, fans of Daisy Jones And The Six have been comparing it with the songs from the book.

Several tracks are taken from the book – Please, Regret Me and title track Aurora – but the majority of songs are new. For those fans concerned their favorite fictional tracks are missing from the album, the show’s creator Scott Neustadter has confirmed the likes of Impossible Woman will be on it but “called something else.”

Taylor Jenkins Reid, the book’s author, revealed to The Hollywood Reporter a team was hired to write the music for the series. “I could handle it in the book. I had good control when it’s just me and the page. Once you’re bringing that into all dimensions, you need somebody great. And they found a good team,” Jenkins Reid explained.

Oh it's on there, it's just called something else… 😉👊
