The incredibly popular Fortnite brings a myriad of customizations to players. In addition to original content, Epic Games introduces skins from time to time based on popular franchises. Last year alone, players saw characters from Star Wars, Borderlands, John Wick, and more. Now, Epic Games is bringing arguably the most popular Fortnite streamer into the game.

Fortnite: Ninja and The Icon Series

Renowned Fortnite streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins teased on Monday that a surprise was coming soon. He announced Wednesday morning on Twitter that a skin based on his likeness will be available for players to purchase on January 16. While it is unclear how much the character will cost, the pack comes with various customization options. Along with the outfit, players will receive Ninja’s Edge Back Bling, Ninja Style Emote, and a Dual Katanas Pickaxe.

The new Fortnite outfit will be the first in a line that Epic Games is calling The Icon Series. Previous collaborations with other parties have produced the Major Lazer and Marshmello skins. Epic Games also announced future outfits based on gaming personalities The Grefg and Loserfruit. Furthermore, the developer is teasing even more content for Fortnite based on “games, music, and entertainment.”

Fortnite had several crossover events in 2019. John Wick skins and the game mode Bounty coincided with the release of John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. Likewise, the weeks leading up to the release of Borderlands 3 saw an area of the Fortnite map changed to resemble the planet Pandora. To end the decade, Epic Games released skins based on the characters from Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Also, the Season 2 map was updated with lightsabers and blasters available to battle use as weapons.

The new Ninja skin for Fortnite will release January 16. How do you feel about this reveal? Are there any personalities or franchises that you hope will cross over with Fornite? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
