Heather Goodman Death; Identified As Inmate Found Dead Inside Henry County Jail

An inmate was discovered dead inside her cell at the Henry County Jail on Friday morning, and after her body was discovered, an investigation is currently underway.

Inmate Heather Goodman, who is forty years old and hails from Anderson, was identified. She was observed to have laid down on her bed about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to a news release. She was being detained in a medical holding cell with no other detainees at the time.

When the staff at the jail attempted to feed Goodman food the following morning at 5:05 a.m., they saw that she was not responding to their requests.

Goodman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the investigators did not uncover any evidence that he had been the victim of any misconduct. In the next days, the Henry County Coroner will be making arrangements for an autopsy to be performed.

The investigation that is now taking place has been communicated to Goodman’s family.
