Joyce Dahmer was the mother of the notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dhamer who was convicted of killing as many as 17 men and boys during the period between 1978 to 1991. He is known to have physically assaulted his victims and their corpses, eaten their body parts and kept some of them.

Dahmer reportedly attempted to commit suicide after feeling guilty about her son’s crimes. Before a few months after her son was killed, she turned on the gas oven and left the door open.

In her suicide note, she revealed that she was feeling lonely and wished to end her life, she also showed her love for her two children. However, she survived her attempt. However, it was in 2000, that she passed away of breast cancer at the age of 64.
