Doing this should let the game properly load all necessary assets and log you in.

Make sure that you have closed or exited the app completely. On PC, see if the application is still running in the background through Task Manager. End its task if needed. Meanwhile, iOS and Android players should kill or force-stop the app.

6. Clean Every Trace of Honkai: Star Rail From Your PC

Reddit user peekmp found a possible solution to the problem if you’re on a PC. Albeit the method is a bit involved and somewhat “dicey.” Peekmp assumed that there’s an error when the game creates a registry or the AppData is getting corrupted, causing an infinite loop. Here’s what they did:

1. Uninstall the game.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Go to the C:\users\YOURNAME\AppData folder.
4. Delete “every trace” such as files or folder related to miHoYo, Cognosphere, and Honkai: Star Rail
5. Open Windows Registry Editor.
6. Search for the COGNOSPHERE folder in the Editor and delete it.
7. Redownload the game through Honkai: Star Rail website instead of Epic Games Launcher.
8. Run the game.
9. The “Update complete, restarting game” loop will happen a few times but they can finally get into the game.
