Jaden Blake Obituary News: In loving memory of GVSU Track & Field Student-Athlete Jaden Blake.
Jaden Blake, a Grand Valley State sophomore student-athlete in track and field, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 13, 2022, as a result of injuries he sustained in a car accident on Saturday, November 5.
Blake, a Chicago, Illinois, native participated in the 2021–22 Lakers pole vault competition.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jaden and we ask that you keep his family, friends and teammates in your prayers,” GVSU Director of Athletics Keri Becker said in a statement. “He positively impacted his teammates during his time at Grand Valley State and left the world with one final act of kindness as he donated his organs to save the lives of others.”
Jaden will be missed by family, friends and the general Grand Valley State University community.
Grand Valley State University (GVSU, GV, or Grand Valley) is a public university in Allendale, Michigan. It was established in 1960 as Grand Valley State College. Its main campus is situated on 1,322 acres (5.35 km2) approximately 12 miles (19 km) west of Grand Rapids. The university also features campuses in Grand Rapids and Holland and regional centers in Battle Creek, Detroit, Muskegon, and Traverse City.
