Josey High School Shooting: Active Shooter, Police Reports at T. W. Josey H.S. in Augusta, Georgia

Josey High School Shooting: T. W. Josey High School is the subject of an investigation by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. A person reportedly claimed that an intruder entered the campus at 1701 15th St., Augusta, GA, fired at least two rounds, and then fled.

Currently, law enforcement officers are on campus conducting ongoing investigations. The campus of the school has reportedly been placed on strict lockdown as police scour the neighbourhood for the alleged shooter.

What Happened at Josey High School?

On the Josey High School campus, deputies responded to a gunfire complaint early on Wednesday.

Sheriff of Richmond County Richard Roundtree stated that it took place in the classroom.

Authorities are still seeking the shooter after the victim received a gunshot wound to the finger.

Both the shooter and the victim are thought to be students, and they got into a fight that turned into gunfire. Roundtree claimed that some of it was documented on video.

Deputies and detectives, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, are on the scene and are requesting that parents notify Josey’s football stadium so they can be reunited with their children.

Just before 11:30 a.m., police converged on the area and nearly immediately blocked 15th Street, close to the school.

Personnel from the Georgia State Patrol and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office were there in addition to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. At least a few of the police officers were dressed in tactical gear.
