Millions of fans around the world consider the DC Animated Universe to be the best comics adaptation. Today, DC Comics announced the next continuation of its beloved animated universe.

As for story details for the first issue, DC says:
In this debut issue, there is a being wandering the universe searching for its true purpose, but what it finds out on the farthest edges of the cosmos will change not just our universe, but many! JUSTICE LEAGUE INFINITY Covers:
Justice League Infinity covers by Francis Manapul (left) and Scott Hepburn (right).
Obviously, this sounds like a worthy continuation. The inclusion of the Multiverse is especially interesting. The original animated series dabbled with the concept a couple of times with the Justice Guild and the Justice Lords. Playing off the “Infinity” theme, the series will include heroes and villains from across the DC Multiverse in addition to the core Justice League.
The variant cover by Scott Hepburn shows the Elongated Man with the team. The preview pages also feature appearances by Big Barda, Blue Beetle, and the Atom. Time will tell what other members appear. This piece from Newsarama shares more about DC’s plans for the series, including previews. This isn’t the only big thing coming from DC this summer, but it’s definitely one of the most intriguing.
