Last week, a head-on collision at Strawberry Reservoir claimed the life of a woman who had recently tied the knot with her husband. The newlywed woman had only been married for four months.

On Friday afternoon, Kelsie Remington was murdered when a pickup truck on U.S. 40 crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the car that her husband, Chase, was driving. The collision occurred close to Fruitland.

The pickup truck driver, Poul Larsen, who was 37 years old, and the 21-year-old victim both passed away at the scene of the accident.

During the summer, the couple had just recently tied the knot.

Kelsie’s glow became even more brilliant after she tied the knot with Chase, the man she had loved her entire life, just four months ago. On a GoFundMe page, it was stated that “she was overjoyed to begin their life together and was never shy to express her love for him to those around her.”

Chase, a student at BYU, is still being treated at the hospital for injuries he sustained in the collision.

Remington’s life insurance policy had expired on her 21st birthday, according to friends who launched the GoFundMe campaign. Chase, on the other hand, “has a long road of recovery ahead of him.”

There is currently no information available regarding the cause of the accident; however, the Utah Highway Patrol believes that Larsen may have been traveling too quickly on roads that were icy and slippery at the time of the collision.
