Ken Vandeyacht Obituary – Cause of Death: In loving memory of Appleton’s Grand Meridian owner Ken Vandeyacht.
Grand Meridian’s owner Ken Vandeyacht passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Grand Meridian’s owner. Ken Vandeyacht passed away suddenly yesterday. Although it is difficult to navigate when the captain has left the ship, we will be conducting business as usual and maintaining our day-to-day operations for all of our customers and events. Please keep Ken’s family and friends in your prayers as they deal with this sudden and great loss. RIP boss….,” the business announced in a social media post.
On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the Vandeyacht family announced it plans to close permanently on Dec. 29, 2023 via the Grand Meridian Facebook page.
As most of you are aware, the owner of the Grand Meridian, Ken Vandeyacht, passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2022.
Since that time Ken’s family, along side our Grand Meridian family, have worked tirelessly to find a solution for the future of the Grand Meridian. It became apparent to us during this journey that we were not going to be able to find someone willing to continue to run the business as a banquet facility. Because of this, we made the very difficult decision to allow a non-banquet entity to purchase the Grand Meridian property.
In keeping with the high level of integrity and service the Grand Meridian is known for, we will be executing all remaining business as usual throughout the coming months of 2023, however, the Grand Meridian business will permanently close it’s doors by December 29, 2023, the business said.
Ken’s passing was certainly unexpected and we are regretful for the inconvenience this announcement causes our guests. Please do not take this disappointment out on the Grand Meridian staff – this was a business decision made by Ken’s family. Our staff are grieving his loss and this change in operations, too. Please treat them with kindness during this transition.
