Matthew Weis Obituary-Death news; Officer of the Leavenworth Police Department, Matthew Weis Passes Away

Officer Matthew Weis of the Leavenworth Police Department has sadly died away. At the age of 27, he passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from medical issues. A Facebook post that read, “Leavenworth Police are mourning the loss of 27-year-old Police Officer Matthew Weis #1649” was used to make the announcement of his passing on Tuesday.

On Sunday, October 15, 2023, Officer Weis passed away unexpectedly at his home in Leavenworth due to what are thought to be medical issues.For slightly more than three years, Matt worked as a police officer at the Leavenworth Police Department. He moved away from his hometown of Bakersfield, California, to attend the University of St. Mary and pursue his love of baseball.

He worked as an intern at the Police Department while he was a student, and after graduating from St. Mary, he soon got a job there. He was recently chosen to join the SWAT Team as a brand-new member. Matt’s substantial 15+ years of playing experience and roughly three years of teaching expertise drew the attention of the team’s head coach during his stay at the University of Saint Mary from August 2017 to May 2020.
