Motorcycle Accident Fort Collins: Motorcyclist dies in Tuesday crash at Windmill Drive and West Horsetooth Road.

On October 10, 2023, a tragic collision between an SUV and a motorbike took place. In Fort Collins, the collision took place at the junction of Windmill Drive and West Horsetooth Road.

Around 7:45 o’clock in the evening, the Fort Collins Police went to the scene. They discovered a man motorcyclist who was seriously hurt. The man passed away at the site despite efforts to save his life.

The investigation was taken up by the CRASH squad of the Fort Collins Police. Due to the size of the accident site, Horsetooth Road in both directions had to be shut down.

According to preliminary investigations, a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee was travelling south on Windmill Drive. At the Horsetooth Road stop sign, it came to a stop. The Jeep began to turn left and travel eastward along Horsetooth Road. At that instant, it ran into a 2008 Honda CBR600 motorcycle that was travelling west. The motorcycle ended up in the eastbound lanes while the Jeep twisted and stopped facing west.

If speed had a part in the collision, the authorities are looking into it. The head of the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team, Sergeant Mike Avrech, sent his sympathy to those impacted. He urged drivers to obey traffic laws to avoid similar collisions.

For nearly five hours, Horsetooth Road was closed for scene processing. By calling (970) 221-6842, the police are requesting that anybody with information or footage of the incident contact Officer Matt Brede.
