Override 2: Super Mech League Launches December 22

You dig giant robots, I dig giant robots, we dig giant robots! Modus Games has finally announced that Override 2: Super Mech League will be ready for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Switch, and PC on December 22 for $29.99. Pre-orders are still going strong if you’d like to pick up a copy yourself.. Aside from giant robots, Override 2: Super Mech League – ULTRAMAN Deluxe Edition will feature four characters from the Netflix-produced anime-adaptation of the Ultraman reboot manga.

The Deluxe Edition of Override 2 is available both digitally and physically for $39.99 and includes the season pass with bonus cosmetics. Meanwhile, the Ultraman guest characters will be Ultraman, Bemular, Dan Moroboshi (Ultra Seven), and Black King. In my opinion, they should’ve taken more materials from the original manga. It would be really cool if Taro got in instead of Bemular to promote the latest volume of the manga as well but I guess they need to balance both the good and bad guys characters. Also, why didn’t they choose the iconic Baltan over Black King? That’s a strange choice.

If you’re curious about how Override 2: Super Mech League will play, you can watch the 14-minute gameplay trailer above. It supports local and online multiplayer for 2-4 players and plays like an arena fighter with accessible gameplay, fluid movement, and fun combos. The game will feature several game modes to play with friends and strangers alike such as Career Mode, Ranked, 1v1, 2v2, Free-for-all, Xenoswarm, King of the Hill, and more.

Aside from four Ultraman characters, the game will provide 20 different and unique playable robots. These include returning bots from the first Override and brand-new mechs as well, each with their own unique abilities, skill sets, and ultimate moves. You can also customize their looks and powers through a slew of cosmetic items and attachments of your choice. Sound pretty fun? To be honest, I’m interested thanks to the Ultraman crossover.
