In the State of Play showcase for PlayStation, Capcom made a surprise statement, and PlayStation finally revealed Resident Evil 4 Remake. According to the statement in State of Play, Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming to PlayStation 5 on March 24th, 2023.
As we experienced in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil 4 Remake will feature fully modernized graphics and remastered gameplay.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Will Be PS5 Exclusive
The first version of Resident Evil 4 was released for the GameCube console in 2005 and became popular in the gaming world in a short time. The fourth game in the series was separated from the fictional city of Racoon City, which was the starting point of the zombie outbreak in the first game.
Featuring an over-the-shoulder, third-person camera that was revolutionary for its time, and Resident Evil 4 comes back to the RE series as a new game. According to Capcom, Resident Evil 4 Remake is in development for just PlayStation 5 for now.
Capcom first returned to the series in 2017 with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. And now you can guess what to expect from the survival-action game, thanks to the story synopsis about original Resident Evil 4:
“In Resident Evil 4, special agent Leon S. Kennedy is sent on a mission to rescue the U.S. President’s daughter who has been kidnapped. Finding his way to a rural village in Europe, he faces new threats that are a departure from the traditional lumbering zombie enemies of the earlier installments in the series.
Leon battles horrific new creatures infested by a new threat called Las Plagas and faces off against an aggressive group of enemies including mind-controlled villagers that are tied to Los Illuminados, the mysterious cult which is behind the abduction.”
