Want to know what are Routes in Pokemon Go and how to create them? Despite the seven-year history of Pokemon Go, Niantic continues to try to unite the gaming community by pushing them to travel, walk around new locations and find new acquaintances. Not stopping at the integration of Pokemon HOME into the Pokemon Go game world, the developers announced a new Routes feature that will allow players to explore the best routes in unfamiliar places. In addition, creating and researching new Routes will bring you a lot of bonuses, so we are here to tell you everything you need to know about the new feature.

Routes are a new feature in Pokemon Go that allows you to walk along a path created by another player and gain in-game benefits. This feature is especially useful when you visit a new city or country for the first time. The in-game map won’t show all the secret passages, but the players who live in the area will create a Route that takes you to the best Pokemon-catching spots and introduces you to the points of interest.

The second great feature of Routes is the great bonuses that you get by walking along definite routes. Of course, this will seem less valuable for players in big cities, but for fans of Pokemon Go from small towns, this feature can be a breath of fresh air.

Also, the highly anticipated Pokemon Zygarde will finally be part of the gaming world. You can catch it during the Special Research story From A to Zygarde. But like the original Zygarde story, you’ll have to collect Zygarde Cells to upgrade it. And walking along Route is the only way to find Zygarde Cells.

All Routes Bonuses

Besides visiting new locations and collecting Zygarde Cells, walking the Routes has several benefits:

  • After passing any new Route, you will receive the corresponding Badge.
  • Walking with your Buddy Pokemon will give you Buddy Candy much faster.
  • Any Incense, including Daily Incense, attracts a lot more Pokemon.
  • Daily completing a Route will reward you with XP and bonus XP if you complete at least one path seven days in a row.
  • Also, when you complete a Route with your buddy Pokemon, you will receive a Buddy Heart.

How To Create Routes in Pokemon Go

To start Route in Pokemon Go, players must go to the Nearby menu and select one of the nearest routes. But besides this, the player can create Routes in Pokemon Go on their own, and here’s how to do it:

  • First, choose a PokeStop or Gym as your starting point. You must interact with these points and select the appropriate function.
  • Then follow the path you want to create. Please note that the Route length can be from 500 meters to 20 kilometers.
  • You can create a Route of any shape, but there are a few restrictions. First, do not create a path through closed or dangerous places. Secondly, do not make an obscene path form.
  • Once you’ve completed your path, send it to the developers for review by following the prompts on the screen. And if it is approved, all players in the area can walk your Route at will.
