Wondering where to watch The Strange Thing About The Johnsons? Here’s where Ari Aster’s 2011 short film is available for streaming online.
A number of filmmakers emerged across the 2010s and the horror genre gave birth to a handful that are already considered masters of their craft.
We have the likes of Robert Eggers, Jordan Peele, and of course, Ari Aster.
The 34-year-old American director made waves with his directorial feature debut – Hereditary – back in 2018 and his 2019 sophomore effort Midsommar confirmed that it was anything but a fluke.
Audiences are eager to see what he has in store next, but first, it’s worth looking back across his work prior to Hereditary.
So, here’s where to watch The Strange Thing About The Johnsons, Ari’s 2011 short film…
The Strange Thing About The Johnsons: Where to watch
- The Strange Thing About The Johnsons is currently available to stream on YouTube and Vimeo.
It’s billed as a domestic horror and caps in at just 29 minutes in length. Despite the short run-time, on the other hand, the film arguably exhibits all of the promise that he would go on to fulfil with his later features.
Much like Hereditary and Midsommar, Ari also wrote the short. Many have praised the film while also declaring it disturbing viewing.
It was actually his thesis film while studying at the American Film Institute’s graduate school in California, later admitted to festivals. Subsequently, it premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in Utah.
