Anti-LGBTQ activist Ethan Schmidt was kicked out of a PetSmart on July 23 after he asked the cashier to take down a Pride flag that was hanging near the cash register.
Schmidt said that the rainbow flag “really offends” him, so the worker went straight to the manager and asked for help. Schmidt criticized the Pride flag even more by saying:
“That stuff is from the Devil. We can’t let that happen.”
When the manager got to where people pay, he told them he couldn’t take down the Pride flag because:
“PetSmart believes in belonging, and that includes the LGBTQ community.”
Even so, Schmidt kept asking for the flag to be taken down, so the store manager told him to leave. Another worker also joined the argument and said:
“You have to go, buddy. It’s not needed here. Also, you don’t have to film me. Even though it’s cool, we don’t need it. It’s cool that you want to stand outside, but we don’t need you to. We’ll have the Pride flag flying. It’s everywhere in our store.”

The employee then said he would call the police on Ethan Schmidt, which finally made him leave the store.
In response to what Ethan Schmidt did at PetSmart, many people online criticized what he did there. Several people on the Internet told him he needed to learn more about the LGBTQ community. Many people were also angry that he was trying to get people to do bad things, and they called him a “Karen.” Some people were also against his political views. A few of the online comments say:
Who is Ethan Schmidt? Everything you need to know about the anti-LGBTQ activist seen in PetSmart
Ethan Schmidt has been in the news ever since he promised to “hunt” down people who support the LGBTQ community. He said that by harassing members of the LGBTQ community, he was doing “the Lord’s work.”
The 24-year-old was against LGBTQ rights and also made a social media group called “ANTIMAKERSCLUB.”
In the past few years, the activist has been banned from a lot of social media sites because of his anti-Jewish and anti-Black speech. Schmidt tried to get money to pay for racist speeches and also said he would use the money to attack people.
Schmidt had gone to other stores and asked for Pride flags to be taken down before the PetSmart incident. He keeps going after businesses that help LGBTQ people and spreads false information that the Pride movement is Satanic.
Schmidt also went to Target and asked employees if they agree with the “satanic pride propaganda,” according to a video that recently showed up on Twitter.
