Timothy Reynolds is dead: An update on the Squeegee fight and the shooting
In downtown Baltimore, a driver got into a fight with squeegee workers. He attacked them with a baseball bat before being shot and killed.
A police spokesman told The Post that as of early Friday morning, no one had been arrested in the ongoing investigation.
The Baltimore Sun said that Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said Reynolds drove through the intersection in his car, parked it, and then jumped out with a baseball bat.
In response to him shooting his bat, one of the squeegee workers pulled out a gun. It’s still not clear how many shots have been fired at the scene.
Three gunshots were heard, and the police moved quickly to help. The fatal fight happened during rush hour and right before the 7:05 p.m. game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Los Angeles Angels at the nearby Oriole Park at Camden Yards. This caused downtown traffic to back up for hours.
Harrison said that it was the second time that squeegee workers had been shot at that same busy intersection in downtown. He also said that outreach workers from the Mayor’s Office of African American Male Engagement were on the scene hours before police took a gun from a squeegee worker.
The squeegee worker is said to have been arrested by the police before 2 p.m. Scott said in a statement that his government would work to find and punish people who use violence on city streets.
The presence of Squeegee kids on the streets of Baltimore has been a source of conflict for a long time. Drivers who don’t know about the practice or are uncomfortable with it often complain about the kids, which upsets local businesses that rely on tourists. There have been times when people got into fights.
Tim Reynolds: Did he have a bat?
Yes, the man who died when a squeegee worker shot him with a gun had a bat. When Timothy confronted a group of squeegee workers, he used that baseball bat.
The rifle that was fired by a squeegee hurt his bat, though.
Later on Thursday night, the metal bat was still at the place where the murder happened. It was lying on the ground near a pool of blood.
