Jeremy Hansen (Born: 27 January 1976; Age:- 47 years) is an astronaut and former fighter pilot from Canada and was selected as one of two Canadian astronauts by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) from over 5,300 applicants.

Jeremy Hansen was born on 27th January 1976 in London, Canada and he is 47 years old as of 2023.

Jeremy Hansen grew up in the nearby city of Ingersoll with his parents and two siblings. He was interested in space and aviation from a young age and dreamed of becoming an astronaut.

He also took training to become a fighter pilot. After graduation, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served as a CF-18 fighter pilot for several years.

Hansen’s background in both engineering and aviation later proved valuable in his career as an astronaut.

Jeremy was inspired by the first Canadian astronaut, Marc Garneau, who flew in the Space Shuttle Challenger in 1984.

He holds Canadian nationality and after earning a degree in aerospace engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada, Hansen served as a CF-18 pilot. A fighter pilot in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Jeremy Hansen has done his basic astronaut training in 2011 and was subsequently assigned to various technical duties at the CSA.

In 2018, Jeremy Hansen was announced as one of the astronauts in CSA’s fourth astronaut recruitment drive.

He continues to work at CSA and is involved in mission planning and development of future space exploration technologies.
